A Bit About Me
Dhanya Pilo is an Indian artist, designer and filmmaker known for her work in creating unique visual experiences, often blending art and technology.
Dhanya Pilo is also an Intrepid sailor usually based in Mumbai, India unless she is out sailing, exploring the various water bodies on Planet Earth. Recently, she was part of the historic All Women Sailing Team Maiden that won the Ocean Globe Race 2023-24. (and made history)
She co-founded The Wall Project in Mumbai, an initiative where artists, local residents, and volunteers transformed blank walls in the city into vibrant murals, turning public spaces into communal art galleries. Her work often engages with urban culture, social themes, and collaborative creativity to beautify neighbourhoods.
She co-founded Algorave India - A collective of computational artists from India bringing creative coding to the forefront to blur lines between artists and engineers #livecoding.
She realised during the 2019 lockdown that sailing is an everyday adventure/learning and we need to share those incredible moments with those not yet enchanted by sail life. So, she has been collecting short stories from various sailors around the world for her book titled "Tell Tales". She is an avid photographer and has been documenting the Flamingo Migration in Mumbai.
In addition to her art projects, Dhanya Pilo has also worked on various visual storytelling projects, and her approach to art is often community-driven, aiming to inspire dialogue and creativity among people of all backgrounds.
